Cancelling Your Expert Subscription
If you decide to cancel your Expert subscription, your coach will not be shut down immediately. Instead, it enters a wind-down period to give your subscribers time to transition.
How to Cancel
- Open your Expert Dashboard.
- Click Manage Billing (or go to Settings > Billing).
- In the Stripe Customer Portal, click Cancel subscription and confirm.
What Happens Next
When you cancel, a 3-billing-cycle wind-down begins:

| Existing subscribers | Keep full access and can continue chatting |
| Your billing | Continues for 3 more billing cycles from your cancellation date |
| Subscriber billing | Continues until the wind-down ends, then stops automatically |
| Your Expert Dashboard | Shows an amber alert with the shutdown date and a Reactivate button |
| Publish button | Disabled during wind-down |
Your subscribers will see a banner in the chat letting them know the coach is closing on a specific date and encouraging them to explore other coaches.
If you cancel on 1 March and your billing cycle renews on the 15th of each month, the wind-down ends around 15 June. Your coach stays active until then.
Reactivating Your Subscription
Changed your mind? You can reverse the cancellation at any time during the wind-down:
- Open your Expert Dashboard.
- Click the Reactivate button in the wind-down alert, or go to Manage Billing in the Stripe Customer Portal.
- Your subscription continues as normal -- the wind-down is cancelled.
When you reactivate:
- Your coach reappears on the Discover page
- New users can subscribe again
- The Publish button is re-enabled
- Your subscribers' billing returns to normal
After the Wind-Down Ends
Once the wind-down period is complete:
- Your coach is deactivated and removed from the marketplace
- All subscriber access ends
- Subscribers who paid for time beyond the shutdown date receive an automatic prorated refund
- Your Expert Dashboard shows that your subscription has ended
Payment Failure During Wind-Down
If a payment fails during the wind-down and all retries are exhausted, your coach is immediately deactivated rather than waiting for the scheduled end date.
If you are considering cancelling, remember you can always reactivate during the wind-down period. This gives you flexibility to pause and reconsider without losing your coach or subscribers.
