Becoming an Expert
The Expert Program lets you create and publish your own digital coach on the GuidanceAI marketplace, and earn recurring revenue from subscribers. Becoming an Expert is free.

Pricing
Becoming an Expert is free. No credit card required, no trial.
You only pay GuidanceAI when you decide to monetise your coach. There are two ways to do that:
Option 1 -- Sell access (marketplace)
List your coach on the public Discover page. Subscribers find and buy it directly. GuidanceAI takes a flat £150 per paid invoice; you keep the rest. Minimum subscription price is £150/month.
Option 2 -- Sponsor Seats (invite-only)
Pay GuidanceAI per seat per month, then invite people by email. Each invitee gets free access to your coach for the duration of your subscription. Ideal for retainer-based experts giving access to clients.
Sponsor Seats pricing (monthly, volume-tiered):

Initial purchase is 3 seats; add more individually any time. Reducing seats requires having at least one unfilled seat first.
You can use both paths at the same time, or neither -- it's up to you.
How to Get Started
The simplest way to become an Expert is through our guided signup flow:
Step 1: Choose Your Path
Visit the Welcome page and click I'm an Expert. This takes you to the simplified expert signup flow.
Step 2: Enter Your Website (Optional)
If you have a website that describes your expertise:
- Enter your website URL
- We'll analyse your site to suggest your name, expertise areas, and target audience
- Review and adjust the suggestions at each step
If you don't have a website, you can skip this step and enter everything manually.
Step 3: Complete the Quick Setup
Walk through 6 simple steps:
- Name -- choose how your coach introduces itself
- Category -- select your primary expertise area
- Expertise -- list your specific skills and knowledge areas
- Audience -- describe who your coach helps
- Pricing -- if you plan to sell on Discover, set a price ≥ £150/month (you can always change this later). If you only plan to sponsor seats, the price doesn't matter for invitees.
- Review -- preview your coach before continuing
Step 4: Create Your Account
On the final screen:
- Enter your email and password
- Click Create Account & Become an Expert
You'll be granted Expert access immediately -- no payment step.
Step 5: Your Coach is Created (as a draft)
After signup, your coach is automatically created in draft mode (not yet chat-able by anyone but you). You'll be redirected to your Expert Dashboard (the Build view -- switch between Chat and Build any time via your nameplate menu in the bottom-left).
The Build view has four sections in the sidebar:
- My Coach — Basic Information, Images & Links, Coach Knowledge, Test Coach
- Sponsor Seats — overview, billing and invitations all on one page
- Sell Access — Marketplace Listing (including your subscription price), Promotional Coupon, Stripe Connect
- Analytics — overview stats and your subscriber table
A Setup progress wheel sits above the nav. It tracks four steps (upload a coach image, add knowledge, send a test message, activate for clients) and ticks down in real time as you complete them — uploading an image, for example, auto-saves and the counter updates immediately. The first time you land in the Build view you'll get a five-step guided tour highlighting these areas. Use Skip Tour to dismiss it or step through to Done; it only ever appears once.
To activate your coach for clients, do either (or both):
- Sell Access → toggle on Marketplace Listing (Build → Sell Access). Your coach appears on the public Discover page and the shareable
/agent/<id>link goes live. - Sponsor Seats → buy seats and invite clients by email (Build → Sponsor Seats). Your coach stays invite-only and never appears on the marketplace.
There is no separate "Publish" button — your coach goes live the moment you flip on Marketplace Listing or buy Sponsor Seats. Setup must be complete first.
To take a coach fully offline later: turn Marketplace Listing OFF and cancel your Sponsor Seats subscription. Doing only one keeps the other audience active.
Before you can take payment-related actions (start a Stripe subscription, buy Sponsor Seats, start a chat) you'll need to verify your email address — check the inbox you signed up with for the verification link. Sending and revoking invitations doesn't require verification.
Alternative: Sign Up First
You can also become an Expert by:
- Creating a GuidanceAI account first
- Clicking your name in the bottom-left of the sidebar and choosing Become an expert
- Clicking Become an Expert -- access is granted immediately
- Using the AI-guided setup in your Expert Dashboard
Both methods result in the same Expert experience.
Build a great coach first -- write thorough instructions, upload your knowledge base, and use Test mode to verify the behaviour -- before you flip on Marketplace Listing or buy Sponsor Seats. There's no rush; access is free.
