Organising Chats into Folders

As your history with a coach grows, the conversation list can get long. Folders let you group related chats together so the sidebar stays tidy and your important conversations are easy to find.

A folder is simply a container for chats. Folders are specific to each coach -- a folder you create with one coach does not appear with another.

Creating a Folder​

  1. Open a chat with your coach.
  2. In the conversation sidebar, click New folder (just below the search box).
  3. Give the folder a name and click Create.

Your new folder appears in a Folders section in the sidebar, above your recent chats.

Adding a Chat to a Folder​

There are two ways to file a chat into a folder.

From the chat's menu (works everywhere, including mobile):

  1. Hover over the chat and click the ⋯ (more options) button.
  2. Choose Move to folder.
  3. Pick the folder you want -- or choose New folder… to create one and file the chat in a single step.

By dragging (desktop):

  • Click and drag a chat from the list and drop it onto a folder. The folder highlights as you hover over it.

A chat can live in one folder at a time. Moving it to another folder simply moves it across.

Removing a Chat from a Folder​

Open the chat's ⋯ menu, choose Move to folder, then Remove from folder. The chat returns to your Recent list. On desktop you can also drag the chat out of the folder and drop it on the Recent list.

Renaming and Deleting Folders​

Hover over a folder and click its ⋯ button:

  • Rename folder -- give it a new name.
  • Delete folder -- removes the folder.
tip

Deleting a folder never deletes your chats. Any chats inside it simply move back to your Recent list.

Collapsing and Expanding​

Click a folder's name (or the arrow next to it) to collapse or expand it. You can also collapse the Recent section the same way. GuidanceAI remembers which folders you have collapsed for each coach, so the sidebar looks the way you left it next time you return.

Good to Know​

  • Pinned chats stay pinned. Pinning and folders work independently -- a pinned chat always shows in the Pinned section at the top, even if it also belongs to a folder.
  • Search still finds everything. Searching your conversations looks across all of your chats, including those tucked away inside folders.
  • Folders are per-coach. Each coach has its own set of folders.
