Import from AI

If you have been using another AI assistant like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude, you can import the context it has built up about you into GuidanceAI. This means every coach you chat with will know your preferences, background, and working style from day one.

How It Works​

The import process is a simple 3-step flow:

Step 1: Copy the Prompt​

On the Import from AI page, you will see a ready-made prompt. Click the copy button to copy it to your clipboard.

Step 2: Paste into Your AI Assistant​

Open your other AI assistant (e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) and paste the prompt into a conversation. The AI will generate a structured export of everything it knows about you — your preferences, projects, working style, and more.

Copy the response it gives you.

Step 3: Paste the Output​

Go back to the Import from AI page and paste the response into the text area. Click Import and your context will be processed and added to your personal knowledge base.

Where to Find It​

  1. Go to your Dashboard and click About Me in the sidebar.
  2. Select Import from AI from the sub-navigation.

What Gets Imported​

The prompt is designed to extract:

  • Personal details — name, location, job, interests
  • Communication preferences — tone, format, and style instructions you have given the AI
  • Projects and goals — recurring topics and current work
  • Tools and technologies — languages, frameworks, and tools you use
  • Behavioural corrections — things you have told the AI to always or never do

Can I Import Multiple Times?​

Yes. Each import creates a separate file in your knowledge base. You can import from different AI assistants (e.g. once from ChatGPT and once from Gemini), or re-import if your context changes over time.

Privacy & Security​

  • Imported content is treated the same as uploaded documents — it is private to you.
  • Only your own coaches can access the imported context during conversations.
  • The content is stored securely and never shared with other users.
tip

For the best results, use an AI assistant you have had many conversations with. The more history it has, the richer the export will be.
